Night Before the End

This was the last night of fun and excitement as we begin to say goodbye to the Thomas Family and think about heading home.

A little bit of excitement on an off road trip.

Looks like Nick is getting an elbow in the eye too!

Sounds like your trip has lived up to the YCEW acronym. Thanks for sharing!

Hey YCEW ('cuz it makes it easier to swallow) team,

It has been really great to have you guys here for the last few weeks. I've gotten a ton of requests from people to say goodbye to the team on their behalf (in one case, from a guy who you never met, but that's Rwanda). Things are quiet around here without you guys. And, I never thought I'd say it, but you're missed.

Anyway, I was thinking about your trip yesterday and I saw a sort of vein running through the experience. A lot of people encouraged you to get involved in ministry (in the present, not just the future) whether it's big or small. Chris talked about it; Brad talked about it; Augustine asked you guys about it; and the youth choirs gave you examples of it. So now that you guys are back in familiar surroundings, I wanted to encourage you guys to start looking for ways you can help out with ministry: at church, at school, around town, or whatever, God will lead if you're looking. You probably don't have time to do something huge (unless you're a brainiac like Jesse and you can take a ton of hard classes, pass them with As, and still have leftover time). But speaking as an experienced church trash can emptier, there's almost always something to help out with that will work with your other responsibilities.

You guys rock, some of you literally (I don't think Freddie Mercury was rolling over in his grave no matter what they said). And some of you rock figuratively, while literally singing songs about throwing things out of windows and the sounds made by various polka instruments. Hope the tag-team sickness thing is over and you're all feeling well.

Yours always,

Philip Derek Phyllis Philippian Abartholomew (the A is silent) Cox
